SMA connectors are coaxial RF connectors developed in the 1960s as a minimal connector interface for coaxial cable with a screw-type coupling. The connectors are all 50 Ω impedance. The SMA series are designed for use from DC to 18 GHz, are commonly found on satelite broadcast systems and also used with WiFi antenna systems. There are standard polarity and reverse polarity. The reverse polarity are more common in WiFi antenna systems.
